I hope the stork finds my house soon...we are very ready to meet our little one.
Coming down to the wire, your baby weighs in at around seven to eight pounds and measures 19 to 21 inches. Those measurements won't change much from now on, but her brain is still growing at an astonishing rate, a pace that will continue for the first three years of life. Her pink skin has now turned whitish (even babies who'll eventually have darker skin appear whitish now — they haven't yet developed pigment). Her head may have dropped into your pelvis by now, which makes your breathing easier but walking harder. ~whattoexpect.com
How far along? 39 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 40 lbs still.
Maternity clothes? yep, in a week or so they'll be fitting a lot better again.
Stretch marks? my "love marks" are growing and have a mind of their own
Sleep: sleeping much better (of course I wake up a lot but I'm sleeping soundly). I am however having crazy dreams!
Best moment this week: Knowing it is my last full week of work at this job!
Movement: you know it.
Food cravings: peanut butter & jelly sandwich
Gender: I'll know by next week!
Labor Signs: not so much...blasted!
Belly Button in or out? out and about
What I miss: When the weeks flew by...they are at a crawl.
What I am looking forward to: Being a mommy.
Weekly Wisdom: Take life at work day by day...even though only 6 days or less remain here...it feels like forever!
Milestones: Car seat is in the car and meals are frozen...come on Baby P!
Well other than the fact that this week has seemed to be the LONGEST week ever (I'm sure next week will beat it), everything is going good. Just got back from my 39 week appointment... Baby P is happy as a clam cuddled up in my belly. His/her heartbeat was in the 120s today, that's the slowest it has been but still in the normal range. No progress has been made and my induction is set up for next Friday. I'll be going into the hospital Thursday night to get the needed antibiotics because I'm GSB positive. I know there's still a chance Baby P can come before then but I'm preparing myself for the very last day.
We spent this weekend getting more prepared for Baby P, Kyle super cleaned the inside of my car (THANK YOU!!!!) and the car seat is now in place. Mom and I made lots of food to freeze for nice and easy meals. We are thinking we'll do that on a monthly basis. It didn't take to long and it was fun spending time together...it's always fun spending time with the 'rents! I always intend on relaxing during the weekends but it is such a good time to get stuff done that I end up busy busy busy and spend most of my week days relaxing after work.
Speaking of work, I'm SO over it. I literally have the countdown to hours and it feels like the day will never EVER come. For instance, at this moment in time I have 48 hours left (considering I take a half day on my last day...less if I choose not to come my last day...that has in fact crossed my mind). To me that 48 hours might as well be oh 10 years...with lack of motivation and no project with a pending deadline, the days crawl. Every morning I wake up I think "woohoo, one last day to wake up for work!" Granted, I do know that when Baby P is here it will be work. BUT it's not this job, at this company, sitting at this desk, working for this boss. Instead, it's something I know I've wanted to be my whole life...a mom!!! :o)
I've been a walking fool...trying to walk more and more everyday....hoping that it might help progress things along. Even though it hasn't it's been good for the dogs and me.
Let's see...I'm really excited that both my brothers will be in town to meet their new niece or nephew. Bridger will be in early next week from Syracuse and Logan (I think) will be in mid next week. With him in Aggieland, it's much easier to make the trip.
My heart smiles when I think about how much everyone already loves Baby P. I love to think about Kyle holding him/her, my parents with the baby, my brothers with the baby... I'm actually smiling as I type that. It's just going to be so amazing! Ok done with the gushy stuff. All I'm saying is this kid will be loved!
