Family Fun Friday

Kyle took off from work this Friday and we spent the day hanging out as a family. Our day was busy busy busy. We took Ryder to The Little Gym and of course he had a blast running around and climbing on all the mats.
Then we headed to the zoo. We got to see the newest member of the zoo, Tupelo, a 5 day old Asian elephant. She was so little and very cute. We got to see a lot of the animals up close and as always, Ryder loved it.It's such a great place to let Ryder run around and check stuff out. The weather was absolutely gorgeous! After the zoo, we headed north to pick up some truck parts for Kyle's truck. That wasn't much fun on the account of traffic. We did nearly escape disaster...while Kyle was shopping I waited in the car with Ryder because he was sleeping All of a sudden I remembered the gas alert ding went off on the way to the zoo. It notified Kyle (the driver) that we had 50 miles to empty and when it went off we were about 10 miles from the zoo and then drove 30 to the truck parts place (in bumper to bumper traffic). So I look over at the gages and saw "0 miles to empty" and immediately turned off the Flex. Oh great joy...thankfully the guy gave us a bit of gas, which didn't even make the "0 miles to empty" budge and we got to a gas station. I don't know what we would have done if we ran out on the highway in heavy traffic on the north side of Houston.

We then headed to my folk's house, had a nice steak dinner and went home. Our friends stopped by to check out their house so we got to hang out with them too. What a great day!
