Softball

After a 13+ year hiatus from softball, I returned this past Friday... I had a small hitting practice and even smaller throwing practice (I can't believe I forgot how to throw!) My nerves were calmed a bit when I could actually hit the ball; my biggest fear was to strike out in a slow pitch softball game. My throws were lacking but no worries, I will get it. I had a blast at the game on Friday night even though at times I could feel my little heart beating out of my chest. Of course like a 5 year old I had to be reminded to run after I hit the ball, did the airplane as I rounded third base and asked “where is right field?” Out of the three times I was at bat: the first time I would have hit a double but my lovely fiancĂ© was the first base coach and was so excited I hit the ball he forgot to tell me to run to second, the second time I hit a single and the third I was thrown out at first. I’m super stoked about my newest hobby. I’m all set for next game with cleats and a glove. WOOHOO!
