bloom where you are planted...

At first, I was going to write this blog about how I had to go count about 400 piles of dirt for work yesterday. As you can see by the pictures it was no simple task and it was a bit overwhelming; there were piles were everywhere. After I gave it my best and started back to the car, I noticed the weeds growing amongst the piles. I stopped and smiled when I God's beauty in the middle of it all the muddy piles. They are just your typical weeds but it was something about the that moment that caused me to leave the job site smiling and remembering that even in the overwhelming grime and mud of life there is beauty.

After thinking of yesterday the notion to "bloom where you are planted" came to mind. I thank my mom for often reminding me of this saying. My whole life my parents have stressed the importance to grow and thrive where ever I am in life. They told me that God had a plan for my life and to be in His will is priority. Through my walk with Christ, I know that God puts me where He wants me and He has a plan for me. Every time I'm in a chapter of life where I just don't understand why (i.e. counting piles of dirt or moving far away from family), I remember God has a purpose. God has been faithful in my life and blessed me in so many ways. I am so grateful.

I read a Bible study that states "To bloom fully as God's children we must be continually watered with God's word and love, and nurtured in the faith." All that's needed to follow Him is the faith of a mustard seed.

The Parables of the Mustard Seed and the Yeast

He told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches."
~Matthew 13:31-32

I aslo pray that I will have the faith of Abraham and follow God's will for my life, where ever that leads me. And do so with a joyful heart. Thanking Him every step of the way.

The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you. "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."

So Abram left, as the LORD had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Haran. He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated and the people they had acquired in Haran, and they set out for the land of Canaan, and they arrived there.

Abram traveled through the land as far as the site of the great tree of Moreh at Shechem. At that time the Canaanites were in the land. The LORD appeared to Abram and said, "To your offspring I will give this land." So he built an altar there to the LORD, who had appeared to him.

From there he went on toward the hills east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to the LORD and called on the name of the LORD. Then Abram set out and continued toward the Negev.
~Genesis 12: 1-9
If I don't blog again before Thanksgiving, I hope your holidays are filled with family, good friends and great food.
