Wow, Kyle and I have been blessed with Ryder for 3 weeks now. In some ways it feels like such a short time and in others it feels like he's always been with us. So small and already such a big part of our lives.
The past week Ryder has had lots of visitors, which has been wonderful. It is really nice to have love and support from friends and family. Kyle and I enjoyed our long weekend hanging out at our house and over at my parent's house. Kyle was able to get a lot of yard work done and I napped and relaxed with Ryder. He is seriously so snuggly....Kyle got some nap time in too.
Ryder had his 3 week appointment yesterday. He was 21" long and weighed 8 lbs 11 oz, which is a .5" and 1lb 5oz gain in just 15 days! Way to go Ryder!!! That makes me super happy because it means he's getting enough milk which is very hard to tell since I'm nursing. He still has a bit of yellowing but Dr. R wasn't concerned at all, I guess BFing newborns tend to take a while to get rid of the jaundice.
Ryder's been sleeping great through the day...not so great through the night. He sleeps like a champ when he's laying on us or next to us but once he goes in his bassinet he wakes up...oh well. He's only 3 weeks old, I'm sure he'll grow out of it. Just this morning as Kyle woke up, he asked me how Ryder did last night (I was just finishing up nursing) and I said oh he was great he slept from 12 to 4am. Kyle said oh wow that's great! Then I said, well no, I only slept from 12-4. Thankfully, Ryder and I got a few good naps in today. I've been going into the office to do work for my folk's but took today off. Cloth diapering is going great, it took a bit to figure it all out but he's in cloth diapers for half the day and I'm hoping to continue to increase that amount of time. The actual washing of the diapers isn't bad at all. Some other things going on in our lives, after this week, Kyle will only have 1 more class left in school. He's really excited about graduating on October 2nd. I'm so happy for him. He will be starting school again in Nov or so (not sure if I've blogged about that yet). We've really enjoyed working as a family for my folk's. Plus it's been a REALLY good thing for me to be able to get out of the house.
Aggie football has started and I'm so excited about that. I'm hoping to be able to tailgate for a few of the games starting next month. Speaking of next month, my oh my it will be busy, fun but busy. Kyle is graduating, I have my 10 year reunion, and we will be taking 3 out of town trips...wedding in Navasota, wedding celebration in Austin and celebrating Logan's 22nd birthday in College Station. So excited about our busy October....now if we could just get some wonderful fall weather!
Pretty excited that I've lost over 25lbs now and I'm hoping to continue to see the weight come off. As soon as the weather gets a bit cooler and after my 6 weeks off, I will be gearing up to train for the 1/2 marathon. Kyle, my mom and I are all so excited about it.
Well Ryder is waking up so it's time for him to eat!
