I can't believe I have a 2 month old... Playing catch up a bit. Life has been crazy...never slowing down. The newest things with Ryder...He LOVES to stand. He locks those little legs of his and even though he doesn't have his father's balance yet he loves it. He also has started talking to us. No, we have no clue what he's saying but he screeches and giggles. It is so funny and he enjoys finding his voice. He smiles back at us when we smile at him. And he looks towards us sometimes when we are speaking to him. My mornings are so sweet with a kiss from Kyle and a smile from Ryder.
I am so happy to be back in the gym and I'm still seeing progress with this baby weight of mine. It is a battle but I feel that I can win. Kyle and I have both been getting ready for the half marathon and some times feel overwhelmed but we know we can do it.
Since Ryder has had his shots we have been going out and enjoying life as a traveling family. The weather in Texas has been amazing and we have really loved spending time outside. Two weekends ago on Saturday we headed to Navasota for a wedding then hurried back to Houston to make it to my 10 year reunion. I learned very quickly that when Ryder (or any baby for that matter) needs to be taken out of a quiet place (ie church) take the diaper bag with you. Oh to be a new mom...I had to leave the church 3 times dealing with Ryder. Thankfully it was a Catholic wedding so there was a lot of sitting and standing already. Ryder behaved so well at the reunion, sleeping under the table most the night. It was so great to see old friends.
Ryder and I go to work with Kyle 3-4 times a week. It is really nice to spend so much time with family but man it wears me out. I'm pretty sure I'm more tired than I've ever been in my life and I see no end in sight but I LOVE it. Being a mom is absolutely amazing. I feel so blessed that God picked Kyle and I to be Ryder's parents.
Last weekend we headed to Austin to celebrate a wedding with our friends. It was so much fun to get away although we really missed our comfy bed. Friday night we headed to the Oasis for some good food and a beautiful sunset. Saturday we got started on the day really early. We had breakfast outside at a little cafe and then went to the Zilker Park Botanical Garden. It was so pretty. The weather was SO nice and it was just great that we got to spend the afternoon in a flower, plant and butterfly filled garden. We headed to the Capitol building but quickly decided to get some food at Stubbs BBQ and spend time to check it out on Sunday. That night we celebrated one of my oldest friend's wedding. It was such a great night, Ryder being the awesome son that he is slept most of the night. Mom says it was all that fresh air he got during the day. Whatever it was worked! Sunday we headed back to the Capitol building, man that place is cool. Then we headed back home stopping in Gruene. We ate at the Gritzmill (dodging bees) and then headed to Greune Hall --the oldest dance hall in Texas--and I enjoyed a Shiner.
So before Ryder was 10 weeks he has traveled out of town to Navasota & Austin, been to 2 weddings, went to the Texas Capitol Building, eaten at 3 Texas famous joints (via mama's milk) Stubbs BBQ, The Gritzmill & The Oasis, hung out at 2 bars --Two Rows & Gruene Hall and loved EVERY minute of it.
We have yet another busy weekend this weekend...Aggieland and the Houston Air Show.
