My mom and I took Ryder to our yearly trip to do bluebonnet pictures. I informed my mom on the way to the fields that I wasn't to hopeful to get an amazing picture of Ryder and I just wanted A picture of him around the bluebonnets. I brought my point and shoot camera with me knowing full well he prefers to be the photographer versus being photographed. As you can see in the pictures above, I was 100% correct. I'm guessing this desire is hereditary...passed on from my mom to me to Ryder.
This is as close he wanted to get when I asked him if he'd go smell the flowers. Such a little stinker.
And here's my failed attempt to take a picture of him in the field...he wasn't having it! Last week while I was getting out of the car and getting Ryder into school (feeling a bit frumpy), I saw this pregnant mom walking into school with her child and wearing this beautiful dress. I thought to myself "see that's what I need - maternity clothes that just make me feel fabulous and not frumpy!" Just a hour or two later in a last minute effort to look a bit more presentable for a client meeting, I ran to the shoe store and then quickly into Target and in a serious God send I moment I spotted the amazing dress...one left in my size! I quickly tried it on and when I looked in the mirror it was like the angels were singing and I felt beautiful again...needless to say I bought the dress and a maternity sweater and all has been well in my world. It was like something clicked in my head and I felt good about my body again...proud of the baby bump that is growing non-stop and no longer disappointed by my lack of gym time or making so many wrong decisions with my diet over the last 4 months. Turning over a new leaf felt amazing!
On to the maternity stats....
How far along? 21weeks & 3 days
Total weight gain/loss: close to 20...BOO! My doctor wasn't there last week because she had left for the hospital so I saw the Nurse Practitioner for the first time. She asked me "so how are your eating habits?" I know that was a nice way to say I'm gaining way too much weight...I told her not as good as they should be and made a mental note to clean up my eating. I've been doing pretty good since then.
Maternity clothes? Live in them
Stretch marks? nothing new
Sleep: Sleeping alright getting out of bed is starting to require momentum.
Best moment this week: Seeing Baby P2!!!
Movement: The little one is a mover - lots of movement when I'm laying down at night.
Food cravings: Trying to resist them. I have turned over a new leaf of eating healthier since most of the MS is gone.
Gender: No clue!
Labor Signs: negative.
Belly Button in or out: in
What I miss: Fitting into my cute warm weather wardrobe from last Spring/Summer.
What I am looking forward to: Hugs from Ryder. I'm seriously addicted to them.
Weekly Wisdom: You don't have to win every battle with your toddler. So what if you are running late to take him to school...letting him push his train around the tracks twice makes for an easy going morning. Compromise is key!
Milestones: Feeling the baby's movements more and more.
Side note: There are these tiny bugs that are all around our house and they are driving me mad. Kyle of course hasn't seen them and things I'm going mad.

Bwah! Don't little things like that drive you crazy? I believe you. Maybe pregnancy amps up your vision too along with smell. Hooray for dresses to make you feel beautiful again.
