It's a good thing your baby's almost done cooking, since your body may feel pretty "done" by now as well. For one thing, you're doing the full-term pregnancy waddle, the result of hormone-triggered loosening and softening of your connective tissue. This is your body's way of getting ready to squeeze a big baby out of a small space. Unfortunately, those loose joints can lead to some pretty serious hip and pelvic pain — but hang in there! Try to focus on your baby, who is now about six pounds and 20 inches long, with soft bones and cartilage to allow a safer journey through the exit door. Most of her systems (from circulatory to musculoskeletal) are ready for prime time, though her digestion system — which has done only practice runs so far — will kick into gear as she takes her first suckle at the breast or bottle." ~whattoexpect.com
How far along? 36 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I plead the 5th.
Maternity clothes? This belly of mine is rarely contained...ok maybe in a muumuu.
Stretch marks? sure sure, but from what I hear, totally worth it.
Sleep: When the neighbor doesn't let her barking dogs out at 5am...the sleep is good.
Best moment this week: Going to see Phantom of the Opera and to dinner with Kyle...probably our last big date pre baby.
Movement: all the time and with added hiccups...it's like Baby P is having a party in my belly.
Food cravings: Ice Cream...Dryers Chocolate Slow Churned...YUM!
Gender: Thinking boy as usual but girl clothes are SOOOO cute.
Labor Signs: nope, just Braxton Hicks.
Belly Button in or out? It's out...but not sticking far out out...but def not an innie anymore.
What I miss: Being able to laugh hard without my belly feeling like it is going to explode.
What I am looking forward to: Seeing Kyle hold Baby P.
Weekly Wisdom: To the husbands...if you stop at a fast food joint on the way home regardless of what time it is...PLEASE I beg of you call your wife to see if she wants anything...uber important if your wife happens to be pregnant.
Milestones: If I went into labor right now, my doctor would not do anything to stop it...craziness.
Let's see this weekend Kyle and I had our last big date. As I had mentioned before we went to Phantom of the Opera and out to eat. It was so lovely. It was my first time to see it but Kyle's 5th...yes you read that right, 5th. The guy loves Phantom of the Opera. I liked it too but took the opportunity to take a short cat nap during part of the 1st Act. I couldn't help it, it was nice and chilly, super dark and the music was lovely.
Sunday Kyle worked the Katy Flatland Bike Ride and I tried to relax most of the day.
I started my weekly appointments last week. At today's appointment, Baby P's HB was in the 140s. She said everything was still looking good and I had no progress...aka my cervix is still closed for business. That doesn't bother me much because I'm not even considered full term...now if I heard that in 2 weeks or so I might be a little aggravated. She asked me at what point I would consider induction, I had never really considered this but she said she can induce me anywhere from 39-41 weeks...crazy that you can pick the due date of your baby, considering the baby doesn't come before that. I have yet to talk to Kyle but I'm thinking this will only be an option for after my actual due date...we'll see. But she warned me I need to pick a date soon because the hospital gets booked up. She also told me we can pick a date and then back out if I'm not ready...who knows.
Kyle is currently in the hunt for a job. After this class that ends next Friday, he'll only have 3 left...12 more weeks and he's done. It seems like it went by so fast.
