Your little embryo has now officially graduated to fetus-hood. Adding to the excitement, a Doppler ultrasound device might be able to pick up the beating heart. With basic physical structures in place and increasingly distinct facial features, baby is kind of starting to look like... well... a baby! ~ The Bump
Our first doctor's appointment went really great; however, it started off a bit shaky. When I first arrived, the nurse informed me that my appointment was booked at a bad time and I might not be able to get an ultrasound. Which frustrated me to no extent, you see I pushed back my appointment by almost 2 weeks so Kyle (missing out on work) could go with me to see our baby for the first time - I was told there would be an u/s when I booked the appointment. When the doctor came in she asked me how I felt and I said a bit upset and went into the whole u/s thing. After it was all said and done she made it right and not only did Kyle and I get to see our little peanut, we heard his/her heart beat. It was music to our ears. Our baby measured about 2cm and had a heartbeat of 167 bpm. I go back in to get the results of my blood tests and such as well as get a chance to ask any new questions. Here's the first picture of our little one...I know it doesn't look like much but it's so amazing!

It was so much fun calling friends and family members and telling them about our newest addition. They are all so excited and happy for us. Funny story, my Aunt Jane her two little girls that I was having a baby and asked them what they wanted me to have...Kelsey (6) said she wanted me to have a girl and Charlee (3) said she wanted me to have a pony. How cute is that!?!
Kyle and I have been super busy the last week or so making sure our house is ready for company on Sunday. We are having a few friends over for a BBQ and there we will introduce them to our newest family member. This will be the first time we hosted anyone at our house. I'm really excited about it.
Well, other than being really tired all the time, I've felt for the most part pretty good. I go through icks here and there throughout the day but nothing horrible. Kyle's been enjoying his first diesel engine class. It's so cool to hear him talk about his school and future with such excitement. He makes me so proud.
Oh I almost forgot, I just realized there is only 3 more weeks until my 28th birthday! Which means our first year anniversary is a just under 3 weeks away. Our first year as man and wife really went by quickly. Everyday I think how lucky I am to have been blessed with such a loving and kind husband. I am so thankful. God is amazing.
