With midnight bathroom runs, leg cramps, heartburn, and your basketball-sized belly, it's no wonder sleep is elusive. Third-trimester insomnia strikes about three-quarters of pregnant women (who may also be coping with a mind that races all night long). But your body needs rest, so do your best to get comfy. Grab a pile of pillows, wedge them where you need to, and look on the bright side: Pregnancy insomnia is great training for those sleepless nights to come! Your baby is still gaining weight (about half a pound a week), and she could grow up to another full inch this week. With that much baby inside your uterus, your amniotic fluid level has maxed out, which explains why some of her pokes and kicks feel pretty sharp these days. (There's less fluid to cushion the blows.) Antibodies are being passed from you to your little one as she continues to develop her own fetal immune system, which will come in handy once she's outside the womb and fending off all sorts of germs. ~whattoexpect.com
How far along? 33 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: closing in on 35 lbs...ugh
Maternity clothes? wishing my shirts were longer
Stretch marks? nope.
Sleep: Pretty good this week.
Best moment this week: Swimming with family and friends.
Movement: Goodness yes! So much that it sometimes hurts/scares me.
Food cravings: Cereal!
Gender: Who knows if I have an Ryder or Abby in there.
Labor Signs: negative.
Belly Button in or out? I barely have a belly button.
What I miss: My belly not resting on my legs.
What I am looking forward to: My 4 day weekend filled with friends, Florida family, fireworks, food and caves!
Weekly Wisdom: Husbands need to be reminded how important they are...turns out mine likes to be reminded with bike parts :o)
Milestones: Baby P's immune system has developed!
This past weekend I got to work on all of Baby P's remaining preparation items such as cleaning his/her room started washing sheets and other baby items, wiping down the hand me downs, getting the infant car seat ready, making half the cloth wipes and cutting out the fabric for the shopping cart/high chair cover.
...as you can see it looks like Babies R Us exploded in there...I hadn't really done much with the room and after the baby shower just stuck everything where it could fit.But after some hard work...it looks livable!
I also decorated the diaper bin...oh how I love the little trinkets from Hobby Lobby!
I still have yet to wash any clothes but I figure I'll get to that after in a few weeks along with the rest of the diapers and covers.
After putting in a good morning of work, Kyle and I headed to Lifetime Fitness to meet up with Maggie and the girls for pool time. It was so nice to be in the pool again...the feeling of weightlessness is absolutely amazing! I was beginning to turn red (even though I layered myself in SPF 45 so we called it a day and headed to the house). Unfortunately my body did not like the feeling of gravity and I couldn't get comfortable the rest of the night. :o(
On Sunday, Kyle and I headed to my folk's house with the dogs. After church we headed to Bob's Taco Stand and had some yummy food...I ate too much. Mom and dad got some cool points from their newest TV purchase...lets just say wowowoweeeee! Kyle mowed the lawn (loves it, I tell ya) as my mom and I got started on the cloth wipes. Cutting out 80 8"x8" squares isn't much fun but it had to be done. We all took a break and relaxed in the pool. The dogs, of course, loved it. After pool time it was back to work on the wipes while Kyle made an amazing dinner.
It was a wonderful weekend! I really enjoy spending time with the family and getting outside. Too bad hormones + sun = weird freckle blocks on my face....it's hard to describe but it looks like I have war paint on.
Tomorrow I have a doctor's appointment and a breastfeeding class, Thursday Kyle and I are meeting with a possible pediatrician and then the weekend begins!! And we are both looking forward to this long weekend and are more than elated to see Florida family!!!!
COUNTDOWN: 4 days until we see Florida family....33 more days of actual work and 50 days until Baby P's EDD. I'm thinking Baby P might come a wee bit early (gut feeling) so of course those numbers could change.
Random nice thing:...lately a few people have come up to me and told me how well I'm doing with this pregnancy. My attitude, my ability to work, my workout habits, etc. it sure does make me feel pretty good.
